Here we see the final stage of the manoeuvre with no excess pressure being used. At this point the pared matchstick comes into play, as a levering tool, to gently help release the fourth toe from beneath the ring.

With the task completed, and emphasising the degree of slack available, which must be allowed to ensure damage and or discomfort are avoided.
