Lutino Hen 28 Feb 2009

This spectacular shot taken by Donna Geeves of her Lutino hen displays the bird's ability to remain composed under the flash of the camera. Highlighted against a dark background, this four year old cockatiel could easily be confused by what is normally regarded as male colouring.

Its bright red-orange cheek patch and prominence of yellow on its head and bib, together with a sprinkle of what looks like pearled shoulders, is altogether rare.
